Ep 17. A Night of Neglect

In Glee season 2 episode 17, titled "A Night of Neglect," the glee club must raise money for the upcoming national competition in New York City. However, due to budget cuts, Principal Figgins decides to only fund sports programs and leaves the arts programs, such as glee club, with no financial support. In order to raise the necessary funds, the glee club decides to hold a benefit concert, but struggles to attract a crowd.

Meanwhile, Sue Sylvester decides to run for Congress and visits New Directions to gain support from the students. She offers to donate money to their cause if they perform at her campaign rally, but when they agree, Sue purposefully sabotages the event by scheduling them to perform during a time when nobody will be in attendance.

As New Directions struggles with their benefit concert, a group of former glee club members known as "The Warblers" make a surprise appearance and perform a song, captivating the crowd. This leads to tensions between the two glee clubs, as New Directions feels overshadowed and neglected.

The episode also explores personal struggles within the group, as Artie struggles with his feelings for Brittany, and Mercedes confronts her own insecurities about being a minority in the club.

Ultimately, through the challenges of the benefit concert and Sue's sabotage, New Directions learns the importance of supporting each other and fighting for their art, regardless of the obstacles they face.
