In the year AD 2345, the universe has been devastated by a massive war that has left much of the galaxy in ruins. In the midst of this chaos, a group of rebels known as the Glass Fleet seek to overthrow the tyrannical rule of the Holy Empire. Led by Michel Volban (voiced by Tsuda Kenjiro), the captain of the Glass Fleet, the rebels possess a powerful armada of spaceships and weapons that they use to battle the forces of the Holy Empire. However, their struggle is complicated by the fact that the empire is backed by powerful sorcerers known as the Followers of the Sacred Light, who are able to harness powerful magic to aid their cause.
As Michel and his team fight to free the universe from the empire's grip, they encounter a variety of allies and enemies along the way. These include Cleo (voiced by Akira Ishida), an enigmatic and powerful figure who seems to have his own agenda; Eimer (voiced by Yasushi Miyabayashi), a young girl with a connection to the Glass Fleet's magic; and Ralph Fitzlard Deon de Lac (voiced by Shizuka Ito), a member of the empire's ruling class who defects to the Glass Fleet and becomes a key player in their struggle.
