Maya celebrates her 30th birthday and receives an unexpected visit from her estranged father. Despite her initial apprehension, Maya welcomes her father back into her life, but Joan believes he may have ulterior motives. Lynn's financial problems continue to mount as she struggles to find work and pay rent. She turns to her ex-boyfriend, Vosco, for help, but their reunion proves turbulent. Meanwhile, Toni faces pressure from her husband Todd to have another child, but she's unsure if she's ready to sacrifice her high-powered career for motherhood. Lastly, William encourages his new girlfriend Yvonne to quit her job and start her own business. As Yvonne begins to succeed, William becomes jealous of her success.
