As the episode begins, the trio of Gintoki, Shinpachi, and Kagura find themselves with nothing to do. While they try and come up with ideas for something to occupy their time, they come across an advertisement for a new movie that has just come out. Excited by the prospect of seeing something new and exciting, they decide to go to the cinema and check it out.
However, when they arrive at the cinema, they find that the movie they were expecting to see isn't actually the one they end up watching. Instead, they are presented with an entirely different movie that seems to have nothing in common with the advertisement they saw. Confused and disappointed, they initially decide to leave and find something else to do.
But just as they are about to go, they are approached by a man who offers to buy their tickets from them. Desperate to get rid of the tickets they figure they might as well sell them and at least get something out of the wasted trip. However, as they witness the man's enthusiasm and excitement for the movie they are giving up, they suddenly start to question their own decision. Maybe they hadn't given the film a fair chance?
Overcome with curiosity, they decide to go back into the cinema and give the movie a chance. What follows is a series of unexpected twists and turns that leave them all completely engrossed in the story. As they watch the various events unfold on the big screen, they find themselves completely immersed in the world of the film.
As they exit the cinema, they are shocked to find that the movie they had originally come to see is actually a complete disaster. The characters are poorly written and the story is cliché and unengaging. Suddenly they realize that their initial judgement of the film was entirely based on its title and advertisement, rather than any substantive content.
Reflecting on their experience, they come to the conclusion that this is a valuable lesson for life in general. Just because something appears to be one thing, doesn't mean it won't surprise you in unexpected ways. In a world where it is so easy to be swayed by advertising and superficial appearances, they learn that it is important to give things a fair chance and not to judge them too quickly.
Throughout the episode, there are various comedic moments that lighten the overall mood. For instance, there is a scene where Gintoki tries to sneak into the cinema without paying, only to be caught and thrown out by the cinema's staff. Similarly, there are various moments where the trio is shown reacting to various parts of the movie in exaggerated or humorously dramatic ways.
Overall, this episode is an enjoyable and entertaining take on some valuable life lessons. Through its humorous premise and lighthearted moments, it reminds viewers to be open to new experiences, to not be swayed by superficial appearances, and to always give things a fair chance before passing judgement.
