Tucson, Arizona is known for its incredible Mexican cuisine and massive portions. In Ginormous Food season 2 episode 7, viewers are taken on a journey through some of the biggest orders on the border. Host Josh Denny meets with chefs and restaurant owners who are pushing the limits when it comes to portion size and flavor.
The episode starts off at a local favorite, El Guero Canelo, where they serve up their famous Sonoran hot dogs. These hot dogs are wrapped in bacon, grilled, and topped with beans, cheese, and various other toppings. But it's not just the hot dogs that are ginormous - they also serve up massive burritos and plates overflowing with nachos.
Next, Josh visits Lindy's on 4th, where they are known for their massive burgers. Josh tries the O.M.F.G. burger, which contains two grilled cheese sandwiches as the buns and four patties in between. The burger is topped with bacon, lettuce, tomato, and onion. At Lindy's, customers can also create their own burger with over 50 different toppings to choose from.
After eating all that heavy food, it's time for something sweet. Josh stops by The Screamery, where they handcraft ice cream in small batches using locally sourced ingredients. But this ice cream isn't just any regular ice cream - it's ginormous. Josh tries the Mega Sundae, which consists of ten scoops of ice cream, five toppings, whipped cream, and a cherry on top.
Next up is Mi Nidito, which is famous for its chimichangas. These chimichangas are so big, they have to be served on two plates. Josh meets with the owner's daughter, who shares the history and tradition behind the restaurant's dishes. Josh tries the El Gran Chimichanga, which is stuffed with beef, beans, and cheese, and topped with guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo.
Josh ends the episode at Pinnacle Peak, where they serve up the Cowboy Steak. This steak is a whopping 40 ounces and is cooked over an open mesquite fire. Josh meets with the owner, who shares the history behind the restaurant and the cowboy lifestyle it represents.
Throughout the episode, viewers are shown the reactions of customers as they attempt to tackle these ginormous portions. Many customers are amazed at the size of the dishes and some even take on the challenge of finishing it all.
Overall, Ginormous Food season 2 episode 7 showcases some of the biggest and most delicious orders on the border. From massive burgers to ginormous ice cream sundaes, viewers are taken on a culinary adventure they won't forget.
