In the fifth episode of Ginormous Food season 2 titled "Spicy, Smoky and Sweet In Sin City," host Josh Denny is in Las Vegas to check out some of the biggest and over-the-top dishes in the city.
Josh starts off at a restaurant called Andre's Bistro & Bar, where he tries out their massive Chimichanga. This dish is made with a 16-inch flour tortilla that's stuffed with black beans, rice, and shredded beef, and then it's deep-fried to crispy perfection. The outsized burrito is then topped with queso sauce, guacamole, pico de gallo, and sour cream. Josh tries to finish this big burrito by himself, but it proves to be too much, even for him.
Next, Josh heads over to Lardo, a sandwich shop that's become famous for their ginormous porchetta sandwich. This sandwich is made with a 14-pound slow-roasted pork loin that's stuffed with herbs and spices. Once it's roasted, the pork is sliced and then piled high on a massive homemade ciabatta roll. Josh struggles to take a bite out of this massive sandwich, but he comes away impressed by the flavors.
Josh then stops by a hot dog joint called Dirt Dog, where he tries out their Flamin’ Hot Cheetos Dog. This outrageous hot dog comes topped with nacho cheese, crispy bacon, and crushed-up Flamin' Hot Cheetos. Josh is surprised by how the spicy, smoky, and sweet flavors all come together in this inventive hot dog.
Next up on Josh's food tour of Las Vegas is a visit to a dessert place called Sweets Raku. This restaurant is famous for its unique and creative desserts, and Josh tries out their signature dessert called Honey Toast. This dessert is a huge block of bread that's been toasted and then coated with butter and honey. The bread is then hollowed out, and the inside is filled with a scoop of ice cream and topped with whipped cream and fruit. Josh is impressed by the combination of sweet and savory flavors in this unique dessert.
Finally, Josh heads over to Slater's 50/50, a burger joint that's become famous for its crazy burgers. Josh tries out their signature 100% Bacon Burger, which is made with a patty that’s made entirely out of bacon. The burger is then topped with even more bacon, bacon aioli, and a sunny-side-up egg. Josh is blown away by the decadence of this bacon-filled burger.
Overall, "Spicy, Smoky and Sweet In Sin City" is a fun and adventurous episode of Ginormous Food that showcases the big and bold cuisine of Las Vegas. With its outrageous dishes and over-the-top flavors, this episode is sure to satisfy even the biggest appetites.
