Lorelai and Luke have just started a relationship, but it's not without its challenges. In "Just Like Gwen and Gavin," Luke is trying to find his place in Rory's life, as her uncle and as someone who cares about her. Meanwhile, Lorelai is struggling to find a way to include Luke in her relationship with her daughter without alienating her.

The episode opens with Lorelai and Luke at the diner, chatting with a table of regulars. They're on a high, enjoying their newfound relationship and the happiness it has brought them. But when Rory walks in with Logan, their mood shifts. Lorelai isn't sure how to act, and the tension is palpable. Luke tries to make conversation with Rory, but she's clearly uncomfortable.

Later, Rory confides in Lane that she's not sure she wants to hang out with her mom and Luke anymore. "It's weird," she says. "It's like they're in this bubble and I'm not invited." Lane tries to console her, but it's clear that Rory is feeling left out.

Meanwhile, Lorelai is trying to find a way to include Luke in Rory's life without being overbearing. She suggests that they all go to see a movie together, but Luke is hesitant. "I don't want to step on any toes," he says. "I don't want to push myself into Rory's life." Lorelai assures him that Rory wants him to be there, but it's clear that Luke is still unsure.

As the episode progresses, we learn that Rory is struggling with more than just her relationship with her mom and Luke. She's also feeling unfulfilled in her career, unsure of what she wants to do with her life. She confides in Logan, who suggests that she take a break from everything and focus on her writing. "You have something to say," he tells her. "You just need to figure out how to say it."

Meanwhile, Lorelai and Luke are still trying to find their footing as a couple. They have a heart-to-heart in the diner, where Lorelai openly discusses her fears about including Luke in Rory's life. "I don't want to mess things up," she says. "I don't want to push her away." Luke reassures her that he understands, and promises to be patient.

The episode ends with Lorelai and Luke trying to bridge the gap between them and Rory. They invite her to come over for dinner, and Luke sets the table with fancy dishes and candles. Rory is surprised and touched by the effort they've put in, and the three of them have a lovely evening together. It's clear that there's still work to be done, but they're all committed to making it work.

Overall, "Just Like Gwen and Gavin" is a poignant exploration of family dynamics and the challenges of blending new relationships with old ones. It showcases the strengths of the show -- witty banter, complex characters, and heartwarming moments -- while also delving deep into some of the more complicated aspects of the Gilmore world. Fans of the series will appreciate the honesty and complexity of the episode, as well as the continued growth of their beloved characters.
