Ep 1. Struggle At the South Pole

In the debut episode of Gigantor's first season, titled "Struggle At the South Pole," we are transported to the vast icy landscapes of the South Pole. As the episode begins, tensions arise between two rival superpowers, the Western Defense Force and the Eastern Bloc, who both have set up research stations there.

Fearing the worst, the Western Defense Force's Commander Aoi Kagawa initiates a search and rescue mission. He assembles his team, including Agent Dick Strong, Jimmy Sparks, and Inspector Ignatius J. Duff, to locate and bring back Dr. Brilliant safely. However, unbeknownst to them, Dr. Brilliant's life is now in grave danger.

Meanwhile, at the mysterious Eastern Bloc research station, a nefarious plan is set in motion. Professor Goofy plots to use Dr. Brilliant's scientific expertise to gain control over a revolutionary energy source known as the "Magnetron." With its immense power, the Magnetron could shift the balance of global power and be used for destructive purposes. Professor Goofy aims to exploit this potential to his advantage.

Back at the Western Defense Force's station, Jimmy Sparks, a young boy and friend of Dr. Brilliant, becomes increasingly worried about his disappearance. Jimmy's anxiety peaks when his radio suddenly picks up a faint distress signal, revealing that his mentor is alive but in grave danger. He receives an encoded message from Dr. Brilliant, detailing the imminent threat posed by Professor Goofy and the Magnetron.

Determined to rescue Dr. Brilliant, Jimmy hatches a plan of his own. Alongside his loyal dog, Rufus, the young boy sneaks onto a helicopter, aiming to fly to the Eastern Bloc station and save his friend. Little does he know that this impulsive decision will lead him on a dangerous journey filled with unexpected encounters and perilous situations.

As Jimmy ventures deep into enemy territory, he stumbles upon Gigantor, the massive robot created by Dr. Tazuka. Initially programmed for peaceful purposes, Gigantor now serves as an incredible weapon at Jimmy's disposal. Together, Jimmy and Gigantor form a unique bond, as the young boy controls the towering robot from within its control room.

In the heart-stopping climax of "Struggle At the South Pole," Jimmy and Gigantor face off against Professor Goofy's forces. Battling the harsh Antarctic conditions and the ever-looming threat of danger, the duo must rely on their teamwork and courage to overcome the odds.
