The show "Ghost Nation" follows a team of paranormal investigators as they travel around the country investigating haunted locations and helping those in need. In season 2 episode 3, titled "Prison Poltergeist," the team heads to West Virginia to investigate the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum, which was once home to thousands of mentally ill patients. The team is joined by civilians who have had experiences at the asylum and are anxious to see what the investigators uncover.
The Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum is a massive, 200,000 square foot building that was constructed in the mid-1800s. It operated as a mental institution for over 130 years before it was closed down in the 1990s. Since then, the building has been the subject of numerous reports of paranormal activity. Visitors and former employees have reported hearing strange noises, seeing apparitions, and feeling an overwhelming sense of dread while inside the building.
As the team begins their investigation, they split up into smaller groups and explore different parts of the asylum. They use a variety of high-tech equipment, including thermal imaging cameras, EVP recorders, and spirit boxes, to try to make contact with any spirits that may be present. They also employ traditional investigative techniques, such as conducting EVP sessions and attempting to trigger activity by asking spirits to manipulate objects in the environment.
As the night wears on, the team begins to experience some disturbing phenomena. One member of the team hears what sounds like footsteps coming from behind her, even though no one is there. The group also captures several EVPs, including one that seems to be saying "get out." They also see strange light anomalies on their thermal imaging cameras, which they believe could be evidence of paranormal activity.
But perhaps the most chilling experience comes when the team investigates the facility's former medical ward. This section of the asylum was where patients were treated for illnesses that were often misdiagnosed or misunderstood, which led to some extremely unethical medical experimentation. As the team explores the area, they begin to hear strange noises coming from one of the rooms. When they investigate, they find an old, rusted hospital bed that seems to be moving on its own. The team is baffled by this activity and spends some time trying to debunk it, but they are unable to do so.
Overall, the team is convinced that there is a great deal of paranormal activity taking place at the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. They believe that the spirits of former patients and staff members are still present and that they are trying to make their presence known to the living. While they are unable to definitively prove the existence of ghosts or other supernatural phenomena, they are certain that something strange and unexplainable is happening at this location.
"Ghost Nation" season 2 episode 3, "Prison Poltergeist," is a spooky and suspenseful exploration of one of the most haunted locations in the country. The team encounters a variety of paranormal activity, including EVPs, footsteps, and moving objects, that will leave viewers both fascinated and frightened. Whether you're a believer in the paranormal or simply love a good ghost story, this episode is sure to leave a lasting impression.
