In season 7 episode 6 of Ghost Hunters, titled "Frozen In Fear," the team travels to Norway, Maine to investigate a historic inn that is rumored to be haunted. According to reports, the inn has a malevolent presence that has terrified guests and staff alike.
Upon arriving at the inn, the team interviews the owner and several employees who recount their experiences with the ghostly entity. They describe feelings of being watched, doors opening and closing on their own, and shadowy figures moving throughout the building. The team also learns that the inn was originally built as a farmhouse in the 19th century and has a history of tragic events, including a fire that claimed the lives of several family members.
As the investigation begins, the team splits up into groups to cover several areas of the inn. One group focuses on a room on the second floor that has been especially active, while another group investigates the basement and boiler room. The team uses their usual array of equipment, including EMF detectors, thermometers, and motion sensors, to try and capture evidence of paranormal activity.
Throughout the night, the team experiences several unexplained occurrences. Doors slam shut on their own, items move without explanation, and one member of the team even claims to have seen a full-bodied apparition. However, the most disturbing event occurs when one team member becomes trapped in a walk-in freezer. Despite frantic efforts by his colleagues, the door refuses to budge, leaving the team member trapped inside in freezing temperatures.
Eventually, the team is able to free their colleague, but the incident leaves them shaken and unsure of how to proceed. They regroup and decide to focus their efforts on the basement, where they believe the source of the negative energy may be located. As they begin their investigation, they uncover evidence that suggests the presence may be linked to the tragic history of the inn.
In the end, the team is able to capture several compelling pieces of evidence, including EVPs and video footage of unexplained activity. They also uncover new information about the history of the inn and its previous occupants. However, the investigation leaves them with more questions than answers, and they leave the inn with a sense that the malevolent presence may never truly be put to rest.
