The show Ghost Asylum follows the team of trained paranormal experts, The Tennessee Wraith Chasers, as they travel across the United States exploring some of the most haunted locations known to man. In season 1 episode 6, The Tennessee Wraith Chasers are off to investigate the Cannon Memorial Banner located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

The Cannon Memorial Banner is an old Civil War banner that has been kept in Murfreesboro's courthouse for over 150 years. The banner was created in 1861 to commemorate the men from Rutherford County who were signing up to fight for the Confederacy in the Civil War. The Cannon Memorial Banner is said to be one of the most haunted items in the courthouse, with many paranormal sightings and unexplained occurrences happening in its vicinity.

The Tennessee Wraith Chasers have been called in to investigate the banner and uncover the truth behind the paranormal activity that is happening in the courthouse. The team consists of Chris, Brannon, Doogie, Steven, and Scott, who all come from different walks of life but share a common interest in exploring the paranormal.

The team starts their investigation by first looking at the history of the banner and the courthouse. They speak to local historians and visit the archives to gather information about the banner and the men who fought in the Civil War. The team believes that the haunted activity might be related to the soldiers who fought and died in the war, and they want to know if there are any spirits still lingering in the courthouse.

During their investigation, the team uses various tools to help them track down any paranormal activity. They use EVP recorders, EMF detectors, and thermal imaging cameras to help detect any changes in the environment or to capture any unexplained sounds or voices. They also use divination tools such as Ouija boards and dowsing rods to help them communicate with any spirits that might be present.

As they explore the courthouse, the team discovers that there are several hotspots where the paranormal activity seems to be more concentrated. They notice that there are strange temperature fluctuations, unexplained movements, and even sightings of shadow figures roaming around the building. They also capture several EVPs where the spirits seem to be trying to communicate with them.

The team members split up and start to conduct individual investigations in different parts of the courthouse. They use various techniques such as sensory deprivation and trigger objects to try and elicit responses from any spirits that might be present. They also conduct a seance where they try to contact the spirits directly and ask them questions about their experiences and why they are still lingering in the courthouse.

Overall, the investigation of the Cannon Memorial Banner is one of the most intense and terrifying investigations that The Tennessee Wraith Chasers have ever conducted. They are able to capture several pieces of evidence that suggest that the courthouse is indeed haunted by the spirits of the soldiers who fought and died during the Civil War. The team members are left with a newfound respect for the past and a deeper understanding of the paranormal.
