In season 24, episode 3 of Ghost Adventures, the team investigates the infamous Painted Lady Brothel in Yuma, Arizona. The brothel, which operated in the late 1800s through the early 1900s, was known for its luxurious decor and high-end clientele. However, behind closed doors, the women who worked there were subjected to abuse and mistreatment.
The team begins their investigation by exploring the main parlor area, where clients would have waited for their appointments. They immediately pick up on strange energy and begin to capture unexplained voices on their audio recorders.
As they move into the individual rooms where the women worked, they start to get a sense of the horrific conditions they were subjected to. In one room, they find a trapdoor in the floor that led to a hidden basement where women were allegedly kept against their will. The team picks up on intense energy in this area and captures evidence of apparitions and voices on their equipment.
Throughout the investigation, the team brings in various tools to communicate with any spirits present. They use a ghost box, which scans radio frequencies to allow spirits to communicate, and conduct a séance to try to make contact with any lingering entities. They also bring in a psychic medium, who is able to pick up on details about the women who worked at the brothel and the abuse they suffered.
As the night progresses, the team experiences numerous unexplained occurrences, including objects moving on their own and the sensation of being touched by unseen forces. They also capture some of the most compelling evidence they've ever seen, including full-bodied apparitions and EVPs (electronic voice phenomena).
By the end of the investigation, the team is convinced that the Painted Lady Brothel is haunted by the spirits of the women who worked there and suffered at the hands of their clients. The episode concludes with an emotional tribute to the women and a plea for their stories to be remembered and honored.
