Max and 99 are called to investigate an island owned by CONTROL agent Shtarker's colleague, Schwartz, which seems to be disrupting U.S. weapons tests. Max and 99 travel to the island to investigate, but upon arrival, they are captured by Schwartz's men. Schwartz explains that he has built a giant magnet on the island, which is interfering with the tests, but he insists that he did it to protect the U.S. from foreign enemies who might use the weapons against them. Max and 99 try to convince Schwartz that what he is doing is dangerous, but he refuses to listen. Meanwhile, Agent 13 is sent to the island to try and disable the magnet, but he too is captured. Max and 99 manage to escape and enlist the help of a local tribe to take down Schwartz's men and stop the magnet. With a little help from some native ingenuity, Max and 99 are able to use the island's volcano to erupt and destroy the magnet, ending the threat to U.S. security once and for all.
