Max and 99 are assigned to investigate a possible KAOS plot involving the hijacking of a U.S. missile. The only clue they have is a connection to a medium who has claimed to communicate with the spirit of a deceased scientist who worked on the missile project. To get to the bottom of the case, Max and 99 decide to pose as a wealthy couple interested in seeking advice from the medium.
Meanwhile, KAOS has also taken an interest in the medium and sends two of their agents to pose as a couple seeking advice. Max and 99 must navigate the tricky situation while trying to gather information about KAOS's plans. However, things get complicated when the spirit of the deceased scientist starts communicating with all of them and providing conflicting information.
As they scramble to decipher the messages from the spirit, Max and 99 find themselves in increasingly dangerous situations. They must use all their wit and skills to outsmart the KAOS agents and ultimately get to the bottom of the missile hijacking plot.
