Maxwell Smart is an agent for CONTROL, a secret spy agency. Together with his partner, Agent 99, they go on missions to stop the evil plans of KAOS, their enemy spy organization. In season 3 episode 22 of Get Smart, titled "Spy, Spy, Birdie," Max and 99 are sent to investigate a strange occurrence at a golf course.
It all starts when two birdwatchers stumble upon a flock of birds that have all turned green. As it turns out, the birds got into a container of fluorescent green paint that had been stolen from a military laboratory. The paint is radioactive and could be used to create a powerful weapon, so Max and 99 are sent to investigate.
They go undercover as golfers to try and track down the thief, who they suspect is one of the members of the exclusive golf club where the paint was stolen. Max is excited to play golf, but Agent 99 is more focused on the mission at hand. They soon realize they have their work cut out for them when they meet the various members of the club, who all have their own secrets and motives.
One member, in particular, catches Max's attention. The wealthy and charming Lord Peter Windhurst, who seems to have a suspicious interest in the green birds. Max and 99 keep a close eye on him, but when they try to follow him, they are caught and thrown into the club's prison cell.
Fortunately, Max is able to use his spy skills to escape and continue their investigation. They finally uncover the thief's identity, but it's not who they expected. The real culprit is someone they had considered an ally. They must race against time to stop the thief and retrieve the radioactive paint before it falls into the wrong hands.
As always, the show is full of humor, with Max's bumbling antics and absurd gadgets providing plenty of laughs. But it's also an action-packed adventure, with Max and 99 facing danger at every turn. The clever writing and talented cast make for an exciting and entertaining episode.
