In the Get Smart season 3 episode 21, titled Operation Ridiculous, Maxwell Smart and Agent 99 are sent on a mission to retrieve a stolen code book from KAOS. The code book contains a list of KAOS agents and their missions, which could be detrimental if it falls into the wrong hands. The duo devises a plan to infiltrate KAOS headquarters by disguising themselves as a married couple.
As they are preparing for their mission, they receive a surprise visit from Max's Aunt Bertha, who insists on joining them to help with the mission. Aunt Bertha proves to be a handful and causes several mishaps along the way, much to the frustration of Max and 99.
Their first attempt to retrieve the code book fails when Max accidentally alerts the KAOS guards to their presence. The trio narrowly escapes and regroups to come up with a new plan. They decide to pose as KAOS agents and attend a KAOS party where they hope to locate the code book.
At the party, Max and Bertha are mistaken for KAOS agents and are asked to perform a comedic skit as part of the evening's entertainment. The skit proves to be a smashing success, and Max and Bertha become the hit of the party, even catching the attention of the head of KAOS himself.
Max and Bertha use this opportunity to sneak into the head of KAOS's office, where they locate the code book. However, their escape is foiled by a group of guards, and they are taken captive. Max and Bertha manage to escape from their captors and make a run for it.
Meanwhile, Agent 99 has been investigating the KAOS partygoers and manages to locate the real code book. She is then captured by KAOS and brought to their headquarters. Max and Bertha take a chance and drive their car right into KAOS headquarters to rescue Agent 99 and retrieve the code book.
In the end, Max, 99, and Aunt Bertha successfully retrieve the code book and make their escape from KAOS headquarters. The trio returns to Control headquarters, with Max and 99 relieved to be rid of Aunt Bertha and looking forward to some much-needed rest.
The episode is filled with humor and adventure, showcasing the talents of Don Adams as Maxwell Smart, Barbara Feldon as Agent 99, and Phyllis Diller as Aunt Bertha. The mission is full of twists and turns, and the comedic moments keep the audience engaged and entertained throughout. It's a classic episode of this beloved spy comedy series that will leave viewers laughing and on the edge of their seats.
