Ep 19. 99 Loses CONTROL

In this episode of Get Smart, CONTROL agent 99 finds herself in a bit of a bind when she becomes the victim of hypnotism. While on a plane trip to Singapore, she is seated next to a man who manages to hypnotize her by passing a pen in front of her face. The man, a KAOS agent, has been tasked with getting the secret plans for a new missile defense system from 99's briefcase.

Once they arrive in Singapore, 99 is completely under the control of the KAOS agent. He leads her to the hotel where she is staying and instructs her to place a call to CONTROL headquarters, revealing the location of the briefcase and the contents inside. Unfortunately for KAOS, the call is intercepted by CONTROL and they quickly implement a plan to rescue 99 and retrieve the briefcase.

Agent 86, Max, is sent to Singapore to rescue 99. Upon arriving, he manages to track her down to the hotel, where he sees her being led away by a group of KAOS agents. Max follows them to a secret underground lair where the KAOS agents are preparing to sell the secret plans to the highest bidder.

Max quickly devises a plan to rescue 99 and retrieve the plans. With the help of a few gadgets from CONTROL, including a pair of x-ray specs and a miniature helicopter, Max is able to sneak into the underground base undetected. He finds 99 and manages to break her out of her hypnotic state.

With 99 back to her normal self, Max and 99 devise a plan to retrieve the briefcase containing the secret plans. They create a distraction using some of the gadgets provided by CONTROL and manage to grab the briefcase before making their escape.

The episode wraps up with Max and 99 back in the United States, presenting the recovered briefcase and secret plans to the Chief of CONTROL. The Chief congratulates the pair on a job well done and assures them that they will receive a commendation for their efforts.

Overall, this episode of Get Smart is a classic example of the show's wacky sense of humor and clever use of gadgets and spy craft. Fans of the series are sure to enjoy seeing Max and 99 in action once again as they take on the villains of KAOS.
