Ep 2. Diplomat's Daughter

Maxwell Smart, a bumbling secret agent for CONTROL, is tasked with protecting the daughter of a diplomat during her visit to the United States. The diplomat's daughter, Princess Ingrid, is the target of an assassination attempt by KAOS, a rival spy agency. Max poses as a chauffeur to escort the princess to various events, but constantly gets into comical mishaps that put the princess in danger. Max's partner, Agent 99, attempts to keep him on track while also investigating the assassination plot. Along the way, they encounter various KAOS agents, including an assassin disguised as a hairdresser and a man obsessed with stamp collecting. In the end, Max and Agent 99 save the princess and successfully foil KAOS's plan. The episode concludes with Max being promoted to 'First-class agent' by CONTROL's chief, despite his numerous mistakes.
