Carly is furious with Nina and demands answers, but Nina tries to explain that she didn't want to keep the truth from Carly, but she had promised to keep the secret for her own safety. Carly is not convinced and storms out of Nina's office.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and Dr. Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) discuss a new patient who has been admitted with mysterious symptoms. As they try to diagnose the patient, they realize that the symptoms are similar to those of a rare disease that Finn has been studying. They decide to work together to find a cure before it's too late.
Elsewhere in Port Charles, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) try to keep a low profile while they investigate the disappearance of Drew Cain (Billy Miller). They've been tracking down leads and interviewing people who may have information about Drew's whereabouts. Meanwhile, Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) is getting more and more suspicious of Kim Nero (Tamara Braun) and her intentions towards his wife, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst).
Back at the hospital, Dr. Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) meets with his son, Ryan Chamberlain (also played by Jon Lindstrom), who is still being held in a maximum-security facility. Kevin is worried about his son's mental state and tries to convince him to get the help he needs. Ryan, however, is still convinced that he's the better half of their "perfect" duo.
Later that day, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) meets with her father, Jax (Ingo Rademacher), to discuss her plans for college. Josslyn is torn between staying in Port Charles and attending PCU, or going out of state to pursue her music career. Jax tries to offer some advice, but ultimately tells Josslyn that the decision is hers to make.
As the day draws to a close, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) meets with his lawyers to discuss the legal ramifications of his recent actions. He's worried that his actions may have put his family in danger, and he's not sure how to move forward. Meanwhile, Julian Jerome (William deVry) is still reeling from the events of the previous day, and tries to find a way to make amends.
The episode ends with a cliffhanger as Franco confronts Kim about her true intentions. He's worried that she may be trying to steal his wife away from him, and demands that she stay away from Elizabeth. Kim, however, doesn't back down and insists that she has feelings for Elizabeth and wants to be a part of her life.
