Gekisou Sentai Carranger was a Japanese television show that aired from 1996 to 1997. The show was part of the long-running Super Sentai franchise, which featured a team of heroes who fought against evil forces. Gekisou Sentai Carranger was the twentieth entry in the Super Sentai series, and it followed a team of five ordinary workers who transformed into superheroes to save the world from an evil space empire.

The show's premise centered around a group of people who worked at a car factory in Japan. The team consisted of Kyosuke Jinnai, Naoki Domon, Minoru Uesugi, Natsumi Shinohara, and Youko Yagami. Each of the workers had different skills and personalities, but they shared a common goal of wanting to make a difference in the world.

One day, the evil space empire known as the Bowzock invaded the world, with the goal of turning it into a giant parking lot. The Bowzock were led by a group of villains who were obsessed with cars, and they had a fleet of powerful vehicles at their disposal. They were ruthless and determined to destroy anyone who got in their way.

The five workers from the car factory were chosen by a mysterious being known as Hazardian Dappu to become the Carranger, a team of superheroes who had the power to stop the Bowzock and save the world. Dappu gave each of them a special device called a "Carmagic" which allowed them to transform into the Carranger.

The Carranger were not your typical Super Sentai team. They were not trained warriors or soldiers, but ordinary people who had to learn how to fight and work together to overcome their enemies. This made for a lot of comedic moments, as the team often struggled with their new roles as superheroes. They would often argue and bicker, and their fights were sometimes more comical than intense.

However, despite their differences, the Carranger always came together when it mattered most. They had to face off against a variety of villains, such as the car-themed monsters called the "Mettsu Bosshu", and the Bowzock's elite fighters known as the "Baribarian". But no matter how powerful their opponents were, the Carranger never gave up, and always found a way to come out on top.

One of the standout features of Gekisou Sentai Carranger was its use of humor. The show was often compared to the American television show Power Rangers, but while Power Rangers was more serious and action-focused, Carranger was much more lighthearted and comedic. The show's humor came from a variety of sources, such as the characters' interactions with each other and the absurdity of the situations they found themselves in.

Another memorable aspect of the show was its use of mecha, or giant robots. The Carranger had their own fleet of powerful vehicles that could transform into giant robots, which they used to battle the Bowzock's giant monsters. The mecha designs were often wacky and over-the-top, and the fights were very flashy and colorful.

Gekisou Sentai Carranger was a critical and commercial success in Japan, and it gained a cult following in the United States as well. The show was notable for being the inspiration for the American television show Power Rangers Turbo, which was heavily based on Carranger's storyline and characters.

Overall, Gekisou Sentai Carranger was a fun and entertaining show that combined action, humor, and mecha in a unique way. It was a refreshing take on the Super Sentai genre, and it served as a precursor to the more comedic and self-aware Super Sentai shows that came after it.

Gekisou Sentai Carranger is a series that ran for 1 seasons (48 episodes) between March 1, 1996 and on Shout! Factory TV
