Ep 1. Pilot

The show GCB revolves around the lives of several women in a small Texas town called Highland Park. In episode one, titled Pilot, we are introduced to Amanda Vaughn (Leslie Bibb), a former high school "mean girl" who has just been widowed and left with very little money.

In an effort to start her life over, Amanda returns to her hometown with her two teenage children and moves in with her mother, Gigi Stopper (Annie Potts). However, she quickly discovers that her past actions have not been forgotten by her former classmates, who are now the wealthy and powerful women of Highland Park's social circle.

The tension between Amanda and her former classmates is palpable, and it escalates when Amanda's car is vandalized and she is blamed for it by the women. However, Amanda finds an unlikely ally in Carlene Cockburn (Kristin Chenoweth), the self-proclaimed "Queen of Highland Park" and the woman who suffered the most at the hands of Amanda during their high school years.

As Amanda tries to navigate her new life in Highland Park, she must also deal with the fact that her ex-boyfriend, Ripp Cockburn (David James Elliott), is now married to one of her former classmates, Cricket (Miriam Shor), and that her former best friend, Sharon (Jennifer Aspen), is dealing with her own marital issues.

Despite the challenges she faces in Highland Park, Amanda remains determined to start a new chapter in her life and make amends for her past mistakes. The show sets up a number of conflicts and rivalries that will likely play out throughout the rest of the season as Amanda tries to find her place in the complicated world of the women of Highland Park.

Overall, the pilot episode of GCB establishes an intriguing premise for the show and sets the stage for a number of juicy conflicts and plotlines. The characters are well-drawn and the performances, particularly by Bibb and Chenoweth in the lead roles, are strong. Fans of juicy dramas with plenty of secrets and rivalries will find plenty to enjoy in this premiere episode.
