The show Garage Squad is a heartwarming and exciting series that follows a team of mechanics as they rescue old and battered cars and bring them back to life. The show aims to not only highlight the restoration process but also the stories behind the cars and the owners who love them. The team is composed of talented and skilled car technicians, fabricators and painters who work tirelessly to breathe new life into these old cars.

In season 6 episode 7, titled "Hell of a Chevelle," the Garage Squad team is presented with a 1968 Chevy Chevelle that is in dire need of attention. The car has been sitting in a garage for over 20 years and is beyond its prime. The car’s owner, a man named Randy, has held onto the car for several years with the dream of restoring it, but he has been unable to do so due to a lack of knowledge and resources.

The team of skilled mechanics takes on the task of bringing this car back to life, with the goal of not only restoring it but also making it better than it ever was before. The car is in rough shape, with rusted-out floors and bodywork that has plenty of dents and dings. The squad starts by accessing the overall condition of the car and what needs to be done to restore it.

The first steps in the restoration process involve stripping the car down to its bare chassis so that the true scope of the work that will need to be done can be assessed. This involves removing the engine and transmission, tearing down the front and rear suspensions, and removing the interior. Once the team has the car fully stripped down, they begin the process of repairing and replacing any rusted or damaged components. The original engine is swapped out for a more powerful LS3 engine, which will provide additional power and better performance on the road.

Fabrication work is another major part of the restoration process. The team starts by replacing the rusted-out floors and reinforcing the car’s frame. They then move on to creating custom bodywork to enhance the car’s overall look and performance. This includes creating a custom front suspension with tubular upper and lower control arms, a coil-over shock system, and rack and pinion steering. Additionally, they fashion a custom rear suspension using a four-link system with coil-over shocks and a limited-slip differential.

The car is then taken over to the paint booth, where the team applies a beautiful coat of Corvette Stingray Blue, giving it a bright and polished appearance. Finally, the car is reassembled and taken out for a test drive, the culmination of all the hard work that has been done.

This episode of Garage Squad is a testament to the incredible work that can be done when skilled professionals rebuild a car from the ground up. The Garage Squad team shows us the passion and dedication it takes to turn an old, worn-out car into something shiny and new once again.
