Ep 17. The Diss Track

In the Game Shakers Season 1 Episode 17 entitled "The Diss Track," the group decides to participate in a rap battle competition called "Rap Trap." However, things take a turn for the worse when the competition becomes more about insulting their opponents than showcasing their rapping skills.

Hudson is the first to compete and he goes up against a rival rapper named Droop. Droop uses insulting lyrics about Hudson's height and demeanor, causing Hudson to become upset and lose his confidence. Trip and Babe then compete, but they too are subjected to vicious insults from their opponents. The team realizes that the competition is not about who has the best rapping skills but rather who can come up with the most offensive lyrics.

Feeling defeated and frustrated, the Game Shakers decide to create their own diss track to take down their opponents once and for all. They enlist the help of Double G, who is a successful rapper and music producer to create their track. Double G, who takes the competition seriously, agrees to help them and puts them through a rigorous training regimen.

As the competition draws closer, the group performs their diss track but quickly realizes that it contains content that is too vulgar and inappropriate. They make some changes to the lyrics, but it still feels wrong. When they take the stage to perform, they opt to use a less offensive version of their track.

The team's performance is a success, with the crowd cheering and chanting their names. They even receive a standing ovation. But instead of winning the competition, the Game Shakers and their opponents are asked to participate in a freestyle battle. During the freestyle battle, the group chooses to stay true to their values and not resort to insults.

In the end, the Game Shakers decide that they do not need to win competitions at the cost of being mean or hurtful. They are happy with the knowledge that they can create and perform music that does not have to be offensive to be successful. The episode ends with the Game Shakers working on a new song together, determined to keep going and creating their own path in the music industry.
