In Game of Thrones season 6 episode 7, titled "The Broken Man," the plot thickens as the various factions of Westeros continue to vie for power and control. One of the episode's major storylines concerns the return of a character long thought dead: Sandor "The Hound" Clegane.
The episode begins with a peaceful scene at a religious commune, where a group of men and women work the land and worship the gods in their own way. However, their peace is soon interrupted by the arrival of a band of soldiers, led by a familiar face: Sandor Clegane, who has been living among them in secret. The Hound is initially reluctant to rejoin the world of violence he left behind, but an attack on the commune by a group of raiders changes his mind.
Meanwhile, back in King's Landing, the High Sparrow continues to consolidate power by rallying the common people to his cause. Lady Olenna Tyrell, who has arrived in the city to try and rescue her grandchildren from the Sparrows' clutches, finds herself at odds with the cunning religious leader. Cersei, who is still reeling from her daughter's death, seeks revenge against her enemies and considers making an alliance with the notorious mercenary Euron Greyjoy.
In the North, Jon Snow and Sansa Stark continue to rally the support of various northern houses in their effort to retake Winterfell from the Boltons. Sansa meets with a former ally and learns some disturbing news about her family's history, which puts a new spin on their campaign. Meanwhile, back at the Wall, tensions rise between Davos and Melisandre as they await Jon's return.
