In the third episode of Game of Thrones season 2, titled "What Is Dead May Never Die," the various characters continue to jockey for power and strategize their next moves.

Tyrion Lannister, who has been appointed Hand of the King by his nephew Joffrey, must navigate the treacherous political landscape of King's Landing. He seeks the help of a mysterious woman named Shae, who he has smuggled into the city and hidden in his chambers. Meanwhile, Cersei Lannister, Joffrey's mother and the Queen Regent, is plotting her own scheme to retain power and strengthen her grip on the Iron Throne.

In a neighbouring kingdom, Theon Greyjoy, a former ward of the Starks, returns home to the Iron Islands to find that his father, Lord Balon Greyjoy, has plans to declare himself King of the Iron Islands and launch an attack against the mainland. Theon must decide whether to ally himself with his family and betray the Stark family who had raised him as one of their own.

The show also introduces new characters such as Brienne of Tarth, a formidable warrior who has pledged to protect Renly Baratheon in his bid for the Iron Throne. Additionally, viewers are introduced to the enigmatic priestess Melisandre, who has a powerful influence over Stannis Baratheon, the brother of the late King Robert.

As the various characters manoeuvre for advantage, alliances shift, and loyalties are tested. The episode ends on a dramatic note, with one character making a bold move that could have major implications for the various factions vying for power.

"What Is Dead May Never Die" is a tense, politically charged episode that showcases the complex machinations that make up the world of Game of Thrones. The characters are introduced with depth and nuance, making it clear that every action has lasting consequences. Viewers are left on the edge of their seats wondering what twists and turns will come next in this gripping saga of power, politics, and betrayal.
