- September 19, 2016
In the 18th episode of season 1 of Future Worm! titled "Makin' History," we find our heroes, Danny and Fyootch, once again traveling through time to right a wrong. The episode begins with the two friends enjoying a hot dog eating contest, which Fyootch handily wins due to his ability to slow down time. However, their fun is interrupted when they receive a distress call from a future version of themselves.
The future Danny and Fyootch explain that they have accidentally caused a major historical event to go awry, and they need their past selves to fix it. They explain that during a visit to the past, they inadvertently disrupted the timeline which led to a chain reaction of events that changed the course of history. The future Danny and Fyootch are now stuck in a bleak dystopian world and need their past selves to set things right.
Danny and Fyootch are hesitant to undertake such a monumental task, but after some encouragement from Danny's mom, they decide to go through with it. They travel back in time to the headquarters of George Washington and his trusted advisors during the Revolutionary War. Once there, they discover that the future version of themselves has tampered with a document that is central to the United States' history.
The document in question is the Declaration of Independence, and the future Danny and Fyootch have accidentally scribbled all over it in an attempt to make it more fun and interesting. This alteration to the document has caused a domino effect that has led to a vastly different United States, one that is without basic rights and freedoms.
Danny and Fyootch attempt to re-write the declaration, but their efforts are impeded by a group of time-traveling rebels who are vehemently opposed to the original document. These rebels have been time-traveling to different periods throughout history, altering key events that they believe have led to the world's current state of chaos. They seek to create a new future by erasing their past.
Danny and Fyootch must navigate through this group of rebels, all while trying to restore the original text to the Declaration of Independence. Along the way, they meet several key figures from American history, including John Hancock and Benjamin Franklin, who are all uniquely receptive to Danny and Fyootch's mission.
As they make progress in their task, Danny and Fyootch begin to notice small changes in their own futures, a positive sign that they are succeeding in their mission. However, their adversaries are not giving up that easily, and they are determined to stop Danny and Fyootch from succeeding.
Without giving away too much, "Makin' History" is a fun-filled, time-traveling adventure that takes viewers on a wild ride through history. The episode ambitiously tackles the importance of the Declaration of Independence and how a single alteration to a historical document can have a profound effect on the future.
