The show Future is Wild season 1 episode 14, titled "Sweet Home Pangaea II," explores the world of the future, 200 million years from now. This episode is a continuation of the previous episode, "Sweet Home Pangaea," where the team of scientists and explorers were introduced to the Pangaea Forest and its unique inhabitants.
The episode begins with the team continuing their exploration of the Pangaea Forest, searching for answers to the many questions they have about this strange new world. They come across a group of Dracoraptors, small predatory reptiles with feathers that can glide long distances through the air. The Dracoraptors lead the team to a cave, where they discover a vast underground lake with crystal clear waters. This lake is filled with many exotic creatures, including a species of giant jellyfish that uses its long tentacles to capture smaller fish.
As the episode progresses, the team encounters many other fascinating creatures, including the Agile Wallaby, a small herbivore that can hop long distances, and the Wampole, a large amphibian that builds elaborate mud huts to attract mates. The team also encounters the Cacori, a small insect that resembles a butterfly but has a proboscis that sucks the nectar out of flowers.
However, the team's main focus is on the search for the elusive Pangaea Tree, a massive plant that dominates the landscape of the forest and is the source of all life in this world. The team splits up into smaller groups to search for clues about the tree's location. One group encounters a swarm of Winged Termite-like insects, which they follow to a massive mound of dirt. Inside the mound, they find the Winged Termites and a colony of Leafcutter Ants, which are using their sharp mandibles to cut the leaves of trees and carry them back to their underground nest.
Meanwhile, another group of explorers comes across a massive boulder that is unlike any other rock in the area. They realize that the boulder is actually the fossilized remains of a giant Pangaea Tree that was destroyed by a massive storm millions of years ago. The team carefully examines the fossil and takes samples of the petrified wood to study later.
As the episode draws to a close, the team regroups and shares information about their findings. They realize that the Pangaea Forest is a complex ecosystem, with many different types of life interacting in intricate ways. They also begin to understand that this world is constantly changing, with new species evolving and old ones dying out.
Overall, "Sweet Home Pangaea II" is a fascinating look into the world of the future, where evolution has taken creatures in unexpected directions. The episode is packed with intriguing creatures and landscapes that are sure to capture the imagination of viewers of all ages.
