The Day the Earth Stood Stupid is the seventh episode of Futurama's third season. It originally aired on February 18th, 2001. The episode begins when a race of giant, telepathic brains invade Earth and cause everyone's intelligence level to drop to that of a Neanderthal. The only ones unaffected are Fry and his pet dog, who happened to be in a bank vault during the invasion.

The episode follows Fry, his dog, and a few other smart characters, as they try to figure out how to stop the brains from taking over the world. They learn that the only way to defeat the brains is to communicate with them on their own level of intelligence. So they come up with a plan to build a machine that will temporarily turn everyone into a genius.

After numerous failed attempts, the group finally builds the machine and turns everyone into geniuses. However, they soon realize that the brains have no intention of leaving Earth. In fact, they plan to use the planet as their new home. The group decides to launch the machine into space and give the brains a taste of their own medicine.

Overall, The Day the Earth Stood Stupid is a hilarious episode that showcases the show's clever writing and zany sense of humor. It's a must-see for any fan of Futurama, and anyone who enjoys sci-fi comedy in general.
