Ep 9. Enemies Unseen

Tamahome is admitted to the Hotohori's palace, while Hotohori talks to his advisors about his political affairs. Miaka, who remains unaware of Tamahome's location, is asked by Chichiri, one of the Seven Seishi, to go to Kutou's temple and look for Tamahome. When she arrives there, she is attacked by two ghosts who are after a gem in her possession. Chichiri arrives in time to save her, and Miaka learns that Tamahome is somewhere in the palace. Meanwhile, Nakago orders Amiboshi, the flutist Seishi, to play his flute and control the warriors of Konan. Amiboshi does not comply and is injured. The psychic powers of his twin brother, Suboshi, make it appear as though Amiboshi has obeyed Nakago's orders, and the warriors of Konan see him as a traitor.
