In Fushigi Yuugi season 1 episode 3 titled "The Seven Stars of Suzaku", Miaka and Tamahome continue their journey to find the seven celestial warriors of Suzaku. As they journey, they realize that their quest is more challenging than they thought it would be. They come across a group of bandits who plan to rob them, but they are saved by Hotohori, the emperor of the Konan Kingdom.

Hotohori is drawn to Miaka and believes her to be the Priestess of Suzaku, but when he sees her interest in Tamahome, he becomes jealous. The group learns that the next celestial warrior, Chiriko, is a young boy who lives in the nearby village. They head to the village to find him, but Hotohori and his men follow them.

Miaka, Tamahome, and Chiriko are caught by Hotohori's men and taken to the palace. Hotohori interrogates them and reveals his suspicions that Miaka is the Priestess. He asks her to summon Suzaku, but she is unable to do so. Hotohori decides to keep them captive until they can prove her identity.

Meanwhile, a group of rebels plan to overthrow Hotohori and his kingdom. They sneak into the palace and attack, causing chaos and confusion. Miaka is separated from Tamahome and Chiriko and finds herself in a room with a beautiful woman who introduces herself as another celestial warrior, Nuriko.

Nuriko reveals that she is also after the seven stars of Suzaku and tries to steal Miaka's bracelet, which is the key to summoning the god. Miaka refuses to give it up, and a fight ensues. Tamahome and Chiriko come to Miaka's rescue, and they manage to escape from the palace.

The group continues their journey to find the remaining celestial warriors, but they are constantly pursued by Hotohori and his men. They also face numerous obstacles and challenges along the way, testing their strength and resolve.

As they travel, Miaka starts to develop feelings for Tamahome, but she is torn between her love for him and her duty as the Priestess of Suzaku. She realizes that her destiny is intertwined with the seven celestial warriors and that she must put her personal feelings aside to complete her mission.

In the end, the group manages to find all seven celestial warriors and summon the god Suzaku. However, their victory is short-lived as they soon discover that summoning Suzaku has also awakened their enemy, Seiryuu, the god of darkness. The group must now prepare for a battle to save their world from destruction.
