D.J. and Kimmy decide to host a Lucha Libre themed party for Ramona's birthday. The entire family is on board with the plan and soon, they start preparing for the party. However, things take a dramatic turn when Fernando, Kimmy's estranged husband, arrives dressed as a Lucha Libre wrestler - El Explosivo. Although the party was originally intended for Ramona, it soon turns into a battle between Fernando and Kimmy, as they've had an unresolved issue that was unearthed with Fernando's arrival.

Meanwhile, D.J. tries to juggle her work as a full-time veterinarian, a single mother to her three boys and helping her sister Stephanie through her struggles with infertility.
