As the second episode of season one of Fuller House titled Moving Day kicks off, DJ and Kimmy Gibbler start packing up the house for the move to their new home. The kids, Jackson and Max, are reluctant to leave their childhood home behind and their rooms untouched.
To make the moving process more enjoyable, Kimmy has arranged a fun truck to transport their belongings. These include Dj's bed from her teenage years, the artwork the children created, and a beloved armchair. She has also invited Stephanie to be part of the moving team for the day.
Meanwhile, Fernando, Kimmy's ex-husband, is feeling heartbroken as he tries to adjust to being apart from his family. He knocks on the door to retrieve one of his forgotten souvenirs while DJ and Steph struggle to keep Max and Jackson distracted.
To help Fernando move on, Kimmy and Stephanie decide to set him up on a date. They try to convince a beautiful yoga instructor to go out with him but end up accidentally insulting her and ruining the chance of a date for him. However, they succeed in making Fernando feel good about himself, which is a small win for him.
Back at the house, Ramona, Kimmy's teenage daughter, is attempting to prove how grown up she is. However, she's struggling to carry boxes and getting in the way of the moving team. Ramona demonstrates her dancing skills in front of the gang, which ultimately breaks the armchair.
DJ, Stephanie, and Kimmy are making progress with the move when an unexpected visitor arrives to help. Joey, DJ and Stephanie's childhood friend, comes in his classic car to lift the spirits. Joey's visit is short-lived as he has to go back on tour with his comedy act.
Later on, Steve, DJ's high school boyfriend, arrives to help out with the move, but DJ is concerned with what his intentions are. However, Steve has a girlfriend, so there is no chance of him wanting to rekindle things with DJ.
As the day progresses, the moving team starts to get tired and hungry. They decide to order pizza, but the computer programmer they contact is confused as to why someone is calling seeking pizza from 1995. As it turns out, DJ has been calling the same pizza chain since she was a teenager, and they no longer have a delivery service.
Moving Day is a heartwarming episode that sets the scene for the series. With all the house moving action, reminiscing about the past, the arrival of old friends, and exploring what's to come, it's an enjoyable watch. The episode is a perfect follow-up to the pilot episode, introducing new and old characters that ensure the show's familiarity while making it interesting. Moving Day leaves viewers with the feeling that the Tanner family, their friends, and the Gibblers are an extended part of their family.
