After a couple of weeks of absence, Danny is finally back from Nebraska, where he was taking care of his father who had had a heart attack. The Tanner family is relieved to have him back, but Danny is starting to feel the weight of taking care of his elderly dad. Meanwhile, Jesse and Becky are having trouble finding a suitable preschool for their twins, Nicky and Alex. The one they found has a waiting list, and the competition to get in is fierce. So fierce, in fact, that Jesse and Becky find themselves arguing over which of them should make the final decision on the school.

To add to the chaos, DJ and Kimmy are organizing a benefit concert to raise money for the local hospital's children's ward. They book the Beach Boys to headline, but the planning process is more complicated than they expected. Stephanie volunteers to help, but quickly realizes how much work it is.

When Danny's father, "Gramps," comes to visit, it becomes clear that he is in no shape to be living alone. Danny offers to have him move in with the family, but the house is already pretty full. Eventually, they come up with a solution that involves Jesse, Becky, and the twins moving out temporarily. Danny and Gramps will move into their old apartment, and everyone else will shuffle around to make room.

In the midst of all the upheaval, DJ and Kimmy are having a hard time getting along. DJ is feeling stressed out and overwhelmed, while Kimmy is being her usual flaky self. After some tense words, they both realize that they need to support each other if they want the concert to be a success.

Meanwhile, Stephanie is struggling to keep up with her schoolwork and the concert planning. She confides in her Uncle Jesse, who encourages her to prioritize and delegate tasks. With his help, she comes up with a plan that allows her to succeed at both.

In the end, the concert is a huge success, and everyone comes together to celebrate. Gramps is happy in his new home, and everyone else is starting to adjust to the new living arrangements. Jesse and Becky solve their preschool dilemma, and DJ and Kimmy are back to being best friends. The episode ends with the Beach Boys singing "Kokomo" as the Tanner family dances and sings along.
