The opening episode of Full House's seventh season is titled "It Was a Dark and Stormy Night." The Tanner family is once again assembled under one roof, with a few new faces added to the mix. DJ Tanner, the eldest daughter of the Tanner family, is now a senior in high school, and begins this episode by stressing out about her upcoming SAT test.
Meanwhile, her father Danny is trying to create a perfect segment for his morning talk show, Wake Up San Francisco, while trying to balance his role as a single parent. Uncle Jesse, who is now married to Aunt Becky, is still obsessed with making it as a music producer and is struggling to land a hit with his latest artist, who appears to be a complete disaster.
The youngest Tanner sibling, Michelle, is continuing to wreak havoc on the household with her mischievous antics. However, things take a turn for the worse when a severe thunderstorm knocks out power to the Tanner household, leaving the family in the dark, literally and figuratively.
As they wait for the power to return, the family members start recounting horror stories to pass the time. DJ tells a chilling tale about a possessed ventriloquist dummy, Stephanie scares everyone with a story about a ghost haunting her bedroom, and Joey spins a yarn about an old woman who turns out to be not at all what she seems. Their storytelling session is interrupted when a stranger comes knocking on the door, seeking shelter from the storm.
The stranger is a woman named Irene and she appears to be in distress, claiming she was in a car accident and her daughter is missing. The Tanners kindly take her in and offer to help her find her daughter. However, strange things start happening around the house after Irene arrives, making the family question whether Irene is telling the truth about her situation.
As the night progresses and the storm intensifies, the Tanners start to feel uneasy about Irene's presence. They try to investigate into her claims, but their attempts to uncover the truth are thwarted. In the midst of this chaos, Jesse's struggling musician suddenly shows up at the door, seeking his help.
Throughout the episode, the family deals with the various dilemmas thrown their way, whether it be DJ's SAT test, Jesse's musical woes, or the mysterious stranger occupying their home. As the Tanners navigate through the trials and tribulations that come their way, they ultimately learn that sticking together as a family and supporting one another is the key to overcoming any obstacle.
"It Was a Dark and Stormy Night" marks the beginning of Full House's seventh season, bringing with it new challenges and adventures for the Tanner family. As always, the show delivers a healthy dose of heartwarming comedy and family values that have made it a beloved classic for audiences of all ages.
