Ep 17. A Fish Called Martin

In Full House season 4 episode 17, titled A Fish Called Martin, the Tanner family decides to take a trip to the aquarium. As they tour the aquarium and see all of the amazing sea creatures, Michelle becomes fixated on a small fish named Martin. Feeling sorry for Martin being in a small tank all by himself, Michelle convinces her family to buy him and bring him home so that he can live in their fish tank with their other fish, Rocky.

However, once they get Martin home, they quickly discover that he is not like their other fish. Martin is a puffer fish, and he has an inflated personality to match his inflated body. Martin quickly proves to be a handful, causing chaos and damage throughout the house. As the Tanners try to figure out how to deal with Martin's odd behavior, they also begin to realize that he seems to be sad and lonely, even with Rocky as a tankmate.

The family decides to consult a marine biologist, Dr. Huxtable, to see if Martin's behavior is normal. Dr. Huxtable reveals that Martin is indeed alone and sad, and needs a tankmate of his own kind in order to be happy and healthy. The Tanners decide to take Martin back to the aquarium where he came from, in the hopes of finding him a companion.

At the aquarium, they meet the aquarium's scientist, Dr. Jones, who introduces them to a puffer fish named Martina. Martin and Martina hit it off immediately, and the Tanners decide to adopt Martina and bring her home to live with Martin in their fish tank. The result is a happy and content Martin, who no longer causes chaos and destruction in the Tanner house.

Meanwhile, Joey is dealing with his own troubles. He has taken on a job as a clown at a birthday party for a young girl named Kimmy. However, Kimmy is not impressed with Joey's clowning skills, and insults him throughout the party. Joey becomes discouraged and decides to quit being a clown, until he talks to Danny and realizes that he shouldn't let one person's opinion bring him down.

In the end, the Tanner family is happy with their new pet and Joey learns the lesson that it's important to believe in oneself and not let others bring you down. A Fish Called Martin is a heartwarming episode that shows the importance of understanding and meeting the needs of all creatures, big and small.
