Danny Tanner, a widowed father, continues to raise his three young daughters, D.J., Stephanie, and Michelle, with the help of his best friend, Joey Gladstone, and his brother-in-law, Jesse Katsopolis. In Full House season 3 episode 4, titled Nerd for a Day, the family faces a new challenge when Stephanie accidentally breaks Joey's prized Mr. Woodchuck puppet while playing with it.
Feeling guilty about breaking Mr. Woodchuck, Stephanie decides to make things right by entering a science fair to win Joey a brand new puppet. However, the only way for her to enter is to partner with a fellow student named Marshall, who is known for being a bit of a nerd. Despite their differences, the two quickly become friends and work together to create a winning project.
Meanwhile, D.J. is frustrated with her boyfriend Steve, who is constantly trying to impress her with his athletic abilities but ends up getting injured in the process. She tries to encourage him to be himself and not worry about impressing her, but he doesn't quite get the message.
As the science fair approaches, Stephanie and Marshall's project seems to be a hit with the judges, but they soon realize that they may have plagiarized parts of it from another student. Feeling guilty and ashamed, Stephanie confesses their mistake to Joey and the judges, but they are ultimately given a second chance to present their original work.
In the end, Stephanie and Marshall's project is a success, and Joey is thrilled to receive his new Mr. Woodchuck puppet. D.J. also learns to appreciate Steve for who he is, and he finally takes her advice to heart and starts being himself around her.
As always, the Tanner family comes together to support each other through their challenges and triumphs, proving that no matter what life throws their way, they will always be there for each other.
