In season 9, episode 6 of Friends, titled "The One With The Male Nanny," Ross hires a male nanny named Sandy to take care of his daughter, Emma. However, the rest of the gang is skeptical of Sandy's profession and wonder if it's appropriate for a man to be a nanny. Ross insists that Sandy is the best caregiver for Emma and that his gender shouldn't matter.
Meanwhile, Chandler and Monica are looking to buy a new house, but they keep disagreeing on which one to choose. Monica has her heart set on a grand, spacious house, while Chandler would rather have a cozy, intimate one. They seek advice from Joey, who helps them realize that their differences make them a great team and that they should compromise on a house that they both love.
Phoebe is dealing with her own domestic issues, as her boyfriend, Mike, is becoming increasingly annoyed with her odd quirks and habits. She tries to change herself to please him, but realizes that she doesn't want to alter who she is for anyone.
As the episode continues, the gang's opinions on Sandy become divided. Joey and Rachel become fond of him and appreciate the hard work he does for Emma. However, Monica and Chandler are uncomfortable with Sandy's behavior towards them, suspecting that he may have a crush on Chandler.
The episode culminates in a hilarious confrontation between Sandy and Chandler, where the two of them release their pent-up frustration towards each other. In the end, Ross comes to the realization that he needs to trust his instincts and do what's best for his daughter, regardless of what others may think. The episode ends with the gang getting together to celebrate Monica and Chandler's compromise on a new house.
