In the Friends season 3 episode 19, entitled "The One With The Tiny T-Shirt," the gang faces a plethora of relationship troubles and communication issues.
The episode begins with Joey trying to get in shape for his upcoming audition for a role as a gladiator. Chandler, supportive as ever, jokes that Joey isn't just a gladiator, he's a "Gladiola," prompting Joey to rope him into a trip to the gym.
Meanwhile, Monica and Rachel are having issues with their new roommate, the overly-girly and baby-voiced "Fun Bobby." Despite his penchant for light-up reindeer sweaters and teddy bears, Monica and Rachel try to stick it out for the sake of a blossoming relationship. However, when Bobby reveals a darker side to his personality, the girls are forced to reevaluate their living situation.
Elsewhere, Ross is struggling to communicate with Rachel, as she seems more preoccupied with her new job at Ralph Lauren and spending time with Bobby than with Ross. Ross attempts to be understanding, but when the two plan a romantic weekend together that is subsequently cancelled due to Rachel's work schedule, Ross can no longer hold back his frustrations.
Lastly, Phoebe is dealing with a problem of her own - she's been seeing a guy named "Roger" who she thought was a stockbroker, but it turns out he's just a clerk. Phoebe tries to grapple with her own disappointment and the fact that she may have been deceiving herself.
As always, the Friends gang navigates their way through their issues with humor, wit, and a healthy dose of sarcasm. "The One With The Tiny T-Shirt" showcases the complexities of relationships and the importance of effective communication.
