Monica is feeling terrible after breaking up with Richard, and Joey tries to cheer her up by suggesting that they sleep together. Monica rejects him, and Joey is left feeling embarrassed and awkward. Meanwhile, Chandler's new roommate Eddie seems to be a little too clingy, and Chandler isn't sure how to handle the situation.
When Eddie starts rearranging Chandler's possessions and buying a goldfish without his permission, Chandler becomes increasingly freaked out. He tries to talk to Eddie about boundaries, but Eddie just doesn't seem to get the message. Joey and Ross come over to help Chandler figure out what to do about his bizarre new roommate, but their attempts to reason with Eddie only make things worse.
