In the second episode of Freezing's first season titled "Pandora Mode," we see Satellizer's troubled past come into play. The previous episode ended with a hoard of pandoras approaching the academy, and we see the chaos continue into this episode as they attack anyone in their way.
While all this is happening, Satellizer tries to retreat and avoid the chaos, but she is cornered by the pandoras in a deserted hallway. This is when we start to see that Satellizer has deep-seated emotional issues that stem from her past. She was subjected to torture as a child, and her fear of being touched triggers these memories, leading her to go into a defensive posture.
But it's when the pandoras use the "Pandora Mode" that the tables turn. Pandora Mode is an ability that amplifies pandoras' abilities and strength by a significant amount, making them almost unstoppable. This transformation is painful and makes the pandoras look like they are in a lot of agony.
Soon enough, the pandoras around Satellizer transform and attack her. Satellizer tries to fight them off, but eventually, she is completely surrounded, and things seem dire. It's then that her roommate, Rana, shows up to help her out.
Rana is a transfer student who's just arrived at the academy, and her abilities are considerably stronger than Satellizer's. She quickly dispatches the pandoras around Satellizer and proceeds to defeat the others with ease. Rana is an interesting character, as we learn that she has a thing for Satellizer and wants to be her friend.
While all of this is happening, some of the other girls at the academy are preparing to take on a mission outside the academy's perimeter. Their target is a rogue pandora who has been wreaking havoc on nearby villages. We see that the girls are working together, and their abilities complement each other, making them an efficient team.
But when they finally encounter the rogue pandora, they realize that she's not acting out of malice but is instead trying to protect her child. The situation quickly escalates as the pandora runs away with her child, and the girls have to give chase. It's a thrilling sequence, and we see some pretty impressive fight scenes between the girls and the rogue pandora.
Ultimately, they manage to save the child, and the rogue pandora is subdued. But this whole episode serves to highlight the complex world of Freezing, where even those who are considered "rogue" or dangerous, may be acting out of a sense of protectiveness.
Overall, "Pandora Mode" is an exciting and action-packed episode that introduces new characters and gives us further insight into Satellizer's character. The use of Pandora Mode adds a new layer of intrigue to the series, and we can't wait to see what kind of battles lie ahead.
