In season 6 episode 13 of Frasier, titled "The Show Where Woody Shows Up," viewers are in for a treat as Woody Harrelson makes a special guest appearance. The episode opens with Frasier and his colleague Dr. Mary looking forward to their dinner plans, only to be surprised by a knock at the door. Much to their delight, it's none other than Frasier's friend from Boston, Woody Boyd.
Woody, a lovable goofball, immediately lightens the mood with his infectious energy and humor. It quickly becomes apparent that he is in Seattle to propose to his girlfriend, Kelly. In typical Woody fashion, he has brought along a quirky watercolor painting to help him pop the question. However, things take an unexpected turn when Woody finds out that Kelly is working on a boat and won't be back in town for several days.
Not wanting to let his sweet and sentimental plan go awry, Woody enlists Frasier's help to set up a romantic proposal on the boat. Frasier, always eager to lend a hand, agrees to help but soon realizes he has bitten off more than he can chew. Words of wisdom from Martin, Roz, and even Bulldog help guide Frasier, but ultimately, it's Woody's simple and heartfelt approach that leads to success.
While the majority of the episode focuses on Woody's quest to propose to Kelly, there are also several entertaining subplots that keep the laughs coming. Daphne is on a health kick and Frasier can't resist ribbing her about it, leading to several amusing scenes. Meanwhile, Martin is dealing with back pain and in typical Martin fashion, brushes it off as no big deal until it becomes virtually impossible for him to move.
Overall, "The Show Where Woody Shows Up" is a heartwarming and hilarious episode that allows viewers to indulge in a bit of nostalgia with the return of Woody Boyd. In true Frasier fashion, the episode tackles familiar themes of love, family, and friendship, and does so with comedic flair and skillful writing. Fans of the show will undoubtedly enjoy this episode, and those new to the series may find themselves tempted to go back and watch from the beginning.
