Frasier season 5 episode 18, titled "Bad Dog," follows the Crane family as they struggle to train Eddie, their misbehaving Jack Russell Terrier. In the episode, Frasier becomes exasperated with Eddie's lack of obedience and decides to hire a professional dog trainer, Trevor (played by Eric Lutes), to help him teach the dog some manners.
However, things quickly take a turn for the worse when Frasier becomes enamored with Trevor's good looks and charming personality, while Trevor begins to use the dog training sessions to test out his pick-up lines on Frasier's producer, Roz. Meanwhile, Niles is dealing with his own set of dog-related problems as he tries to take care of a stray canine that he has taken under his wing.
As the episode progresses, tensions rise between the characters, and Frasier becomes increasingly jealous of Trevor's relationship with Roz. Things come to a head when Frasier catches Trevor trying to kiss Roz and realizes that he has been duped by the dog trainer's smooth talk.
In the end, with some help from Niles, Frasier is able to see through Trevor's façade and get Eddie trained properly. The Crane brothers also learn a valuable lesson about the importance of looking beyond appearances and not judging a book by its cover. "Bad Dog" is a hilarious and entertaining episode that showcases the witty writing and clever humor that made Frasier such a beloved sitcom.
