Ep 6. Sleeping with the Enemy (1)

Frasier and Kate's flirtation continues as they leave the event and head to the hotel bar to have a drink. Here, they discover that their rooms are next door to each other and even have a connecting door. Kate suggests that they leave the door open so they can visit each other's rooms. Frasier believes that they are just being friendly coworkers, but the sexual tension between them is palpable.

The next morning, the two wake up in each other's rooms and are caught in a compromising position by Tom, who has been keeping an eye on them. Frasier is horrified when he realizes that Tom is his competition for Kate's affection. Frasier confronts Kate about the situation, but she insists that what happened between them was a mistake and that she is still in love with Tom. Frasier is crushed by the rejection, and their working relationship becomes even more strained than before.

The episode ends with Frasier arriving at work and telling his co-workers about what had occurred. Roz, his producer, tries to cheer him up by reminding him that he is the better man. Moreover, Frasier's father, Martin, warns him about getting involved with a supervisor, especially one he may have to report to in the future.
