In the season 3 episode titled "Chess Pains," Frasier becomes obsessed with finding a single person to beat his father Martin in chess. As usual, Frasier is not content to let things go, and becomes more and more determined to find someone who can outsmart his dad. Martin is also determined, and the two of them end up playing a series of incredibly intense and competitive games.
