Franklin's Badge / Franklin Stargazes is the sixth season's third episode of the popular Canadian-American children's television series, Franklin. Directed by Gary Hurst, the episode was written by John van Bruggen, based on the books written by Paulette Bourgeois and illustrated by Brenda Clark.

The episode is divided into two parts, with the first part being Franklin's Badge, and the second one being Franklin Stargazes, which deals with two different storylines.

In the first part, Franklin's Badge, the character Franklin is excited about earning a new badge at turtle scouts for helping the environment. With the help of his friend Bear, they set out to complete their task of cleaning up the park. However, they become sidetracked and decide to help Mr. Mole with a broken birdhouse. Later on, Franklin realizes that they have missed their deadline for completing the environmental task. They quickly hurry to finish cleaning up the park, but they realize that they cannot do it alone and need the help of their friends. Together, they clean up the park, and they are able to earn their badges, recognizing them for their effort and teamwork.

In the second part of the episode, Franklin Stargazes, Franklin and his friends become interested in stargazing after Mr. Rat tells them about the upcoming meteor shower. They decide to build their own telescope with the help of Franklin's grandpa. However, Franklin becomes discouraged when the telescope they built does not work, and they cannot see the meteor shower. His grandpa tells him that sometimes failure is a part of growth and that he should not give up on his passion for stargazing. Later on, they set out to find a way to see the meteor shower, and they borrow a bigger telescope from Mr. Mole. Franklin and his friends are amazed by the meteor shower, and Franklin is happy that he did not give up on his passion for stargazing.

Overall, Franklin's Badge / Franklin Stargazes is an entertaining and educational episode that teaches children about teamwork, perseverance, and the importance of not giving up on their dreams. The characters are relatable, and the storyline is easy to understand, making it a great episode for children of all ages. The animation is also well-done, with vibrant colors and detailed backgrounds that capture the attention of viewers. The show's theme of friendship and community is prevalent throughout the episode, and the positive messages it sends are sure to resonate with its audience.
