Wharfe House, the sixteenth episode of the ninth season of the popular British show, Four in a Bed, features four very different bed and breakfast owners competing for the title of best value for money.
Set in the picturesque town of Ilkley in West Yorkshire, Wharfe House is owned and run by couple, Cathryn and Richard. This elegant double-fronted Victorian house has been lovingly restored and refurbished to the highest standard, offering guests luxurious en-suite rooms with stunning views of the Yorkshire Dales.
The first to arrive at Wharfe House are Rob and Letitia, owners of The Old Forge in Dorset. This rustic farmhouse boasts a wealth of original features and is filled with quirky antique finds. However, Letitia's unconventional breakfast offerings leave some of the guests feeling slightly apprehensive.
Next up are lively couple, Ian and Mandy, who own Boston House in nearby Durham. Their trendy boutique B&B is a stark contrast to the traditional Wharfe House, with bold colours and contemporary design throughout. They pride themselves on their fabulous breakfasts, but will this be enough to impress their fellow competitors?
The third pair to arrive are Peter and Christine, owners of The Grange Farmhouse in the New Forest. This charming 17th century farmhouse is full of character, with exposed beams and original fireplaces. Peter and Christine are keen to show off their idyllic rural location and homemade produce, but will their basic en-suite facilities let them down?
Finally, it's time for Cathryn and Richard to put their own establishment to the test. Will their attention to detail, luxurious furnishings and top-notch breakfast be enough to win over their fellow competitors?
Throughout the week, the guests take turns to critique each other's establishments, rating everything from the decor and cleanliness to the quality of the breakfasts. With tensions running high and a few surprises along the way, which B&B will emerge victorious and take home the coveted Four in a Bed trophy?
