Dr. Henry Morgan is back with his invincible nature, still in search of answers regarding his immortality. In the fourth episode of "Forever", entitled "The Art of Murder," Henry discovers a familiar pattern of murders that he has seen before, only with a different twist.

The episode opens with a wealthy art collector being murdered in his own home. All of his valuable paintings were stolen, except for one. Detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza), who is working on the case, discovers that the dead man inherited all of his assets from his brother, who died twenty years ago under mysterious circumstances.

Henry, being curious about the case, joins in the investigation. As the team delves into the art collector's past, they discover a pattern of murders that occurred every twenty-year cycle. However, the unique aspect of this cycle is that the killer takes the victim's heart from his/her body before sending the victim to the hereafter.

As Henry interacts with the dead victim, he realizes that the murder weapon used to extract the heart was made of a rare metal that he had seen before. He understands that the murderer had been using the same weapon for every twenty-year cycle.

As the investigation progresses, the team discovers that the murders were all somehow connected to a world-famous artist, who is being stalked by an unknown person. Henry's vast knowledge of art enables him to identify the stalker as a fine arts professor who was envious of the artist's success and had been terrorizing him for years. However, when the team brings him in for questioning, the murders continue to happen.

As more leads develop, Henry tries to piece together the motive behind the murders. He believes that the murder weapon is the key to revealing the killer's identity. He then notes that the killings might all stem from a fifteen-hundred-year-old myth of an alchemist who had managed to separate a person's soul from their body. However, in doing so, the person became immortal but had to sacrifice thirty human hearts over a hundred years to sustain themselves.

Henry determines that the killer is imitating the actions of the alchemist and has been using the rare metal to create a similar elixir of immortality. After more researching and digging, the team discovers that the killer's identity is hidden in an art piece created by the world-famous artist.

The art piece reveals a connection between the killer and the dead collector's brother who was also attempting to create the elixir of immortality. The killer was the alchemist's descendant and had been killing every twenty years to sustain their own life.

As the team moves in to arrest the killer, a tense struggle ensues as they come closer and closer to discovering the killer's hideout. The killer strikes again, leaving the team with no other option but to break down the door and confront the killer head-on. However, the killer is armed and dangerous, making for an intense and action-packed scene.

In the end, the team survives the altercation and manages to bring the killer to justice. "Forever" Season 1 Episode 4, "The Art of Murder," ends with Henry once again reflecting on the meaning of immortality. As more questions arise, viewers are left wondering what other secrets the show has in store for Henry and his team.
