In season 1 episode 15 of the TV show Forever Knight, called "Dying for Fame," the story revolves around a young singer named Terri. Terri has just released her debut album and is on the brink of becoming a sensation. However, she starts receiving anonymous threats, and her fear for her safety makes her hire a private security woman named Carly. Carly becomes the security woman for Terri's tour, which covers Toronto. While Carly tries to ensure that Terri stays safe, she discovers that one of her former clients, a shady company called CBS Security, has been stalking her. CBS Security is a front company for a group of thieves and robbers who have been exploiting Carly's ability to gather information on people in order to rob them. Carly has since broken her relationship with CBS Security and wants nothing to do with them. However, when one of Terri's backing dancers is found dead, the investigation turns to the singer herself. Terri is unable to convince the police that she did not have anything to do with the dancer's death. Soon, Nick and Schanke, who are investigating the murder, get involved in the case and start digging deeper. They realize that Terri's producer was responsible for the dancer's murder. Nick and Schanke are also surprised to find out that there is more to Terri than just her singing career. She has been secretly helping to fundraise for a friend's cancer treatment and is also dealing with a personal loss. Meanwhile, Carly reconnects with CBS Security, hoping to get information about the killer and the identity of the person behind the death of the backing dancer. The situation quickly escalates when Terri is kidnapped, and Nick must use his vampire abilities to rescue her. The case is finally solved when it is revealed that Terri's producer had plotted to kill her to take her place as a famous singer. "Dying for Fame" showcases Nick's detective skills and his ability to protect those he cares about, as well as his vampire powers. The episode also explores the dark side of the entertainment industry and how it can lead to dangerous consequences for the artists involved.
