In season 6 episode 2 of Forensic Files, titled "Deadly Formula", viewers are introduced to an investigation into a seemingly accidental death. The episode takes place in Cottage Grove, Oregon, where a small business owner named Julie Williams is found dead in her car in her garage. Her husband, Ron Williams, tells the police that she had been feeling ill and he had left her in the car with the engine running to keep warm while he went back inside their home to retrieve her medicine. When he returned, he found her unresponsive.

Initially, the local medical examiner determines that Julie's cause of death was accidental carbon monoxide poisoning. However, her family and friends are not convinced that this was the case and they begin to look into the circumstances surrounding her death. They soon learn that Julie had been in the process of divorcing her husband and that their relationship had been tumultuous in the months leading up to her death.

In order to get to the bottom of what really happened to Julie, her family hires a private investigator and requests that her body be exhumed for a second autopsy. The results of this second autopsy reveal shocking evidence that Julie's death was not accidental at all. Instead, she had been poisoned with a lethal dose of the drug digoxin, a heart medication that can be fatal if too much is ingested.

The investigation into Julie's death leads detectives down a twisted path of lies, deception, and betrayal. As they dig deeper, they discover that Ron, Julie's husband, had been having an affair with a younger woman and had been draining the couple's finances to support his new lifestyle. Furthermore, Ron had been stealing medication from the pharmacy where he worked, including digoxin, the drug that was ultimately used to kill Julie. Detectives arrest Ron and charge him with murder.

As the trial unfolds, the prosecution presents compelling evidence that Ron had a motive to kill Julie and had easy access to the medication used to poison her. However, the defense argues that there is no direct evidence linking Ron to the crime and suggests that it could have been a third party who had access to the medication. Ultimately, the jury must decide who is telling the truth and whether Ron is guilty of murder.

"Deadly Formula" is a dramatic and suspenseful episode of Forensic Files that highlights the importance of thorough investigations and the lengths that loved ones will go to in order to seek justice for their lost family members. Through expert forensic analysis and dogged detective work, the truth about Julie's death is finally revealed and her killer brought to justice.
