Moving on from Cusco, O'Meara heads to the Amazon rainforest region, where she meets with a local chef who shows her how to prepare tacacho, a dish made from mashed plantains, chicharron (crispy fried pork), and tiny, spicy peppers known as cocona. She also learns about the giant jungle snails that are commonly eaten in the region.

In the final part of her journey, O'Meara visits the Peruvian coastal city of Trujillo, where she discovers the Afro-Peruvian culture and cuisine. She meets with a local family who show her how to make arroz con pato, a flavorful rice dish made with duck and cilantro. She also learns about the history of Afro-Peruvian music and dance, which play an important role in the local culture.

Throughout the episode, O'Meara not only tastes the delicious and diverse foods of Peru but also learns about the cultural significance of these dishes. She meets with passionate chefs and home cooks who share their knowledge and love for their cuisine, and she experiences the warmth and hospitality of the Peruvian people. By the end of the episode, viewers will have a newfound appreciation for the vibrant and flavorful cuisine of Peru.
